The Central–Mid-Levels escalator, Soho, Hong Kong

The Central–Mid-Levels escalator and walkway opened in 1993. It is 800 metres long and climbs a total 0f 135 metres. It is the longest outdoor escalator system in the world. It was originally intended to provide an easier link between Hong Kong's Central business district and the residential areas of the Mid-Levels. It has since become a tourists attraction and numerous shopes and restaurants have opened along it's route
