The Japanese covered Bridge, Hoi An's most iconic landark and popular selfie spot. The bridge was built in the early sixteenth century by Japanese traders who lived in the town so that they could do business with the local people on the residential side of a small river. The bridge also huses a small shrine dedicated to the god Tran Vu (Emperor of the North). Many locals believe the bridge has supernatural powers and still worship there regularly.
